Follow your heart???

High jump the broom like a premie out the womb, My patna yelling "too soon, don't do it! Reconsider, read some literature on the subject. You sure? F@ck it!"

So I’m sitting here watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta and tonights episode is all mainly about Cynthia’s wedding. And as I watch the show with all of my cyber friends via facebook and twitter, I notice that my wall and timeline are filled with nothing but “It’s not too late”, “She’s making a mistake”,”That stopnsign shot was telling”, “Her shirt (which read “you big dummy) says it all”, ‘”How many signs does she need?” etc…. Same Difference

Does divorce = single

A while back a girlfriend of mine had an interesting discussion with a mutual friend of ours. She casually mentioned that she and I were single, I’m not sure how this came up in conversation, but that’s not the point. The point is he corrected her by stating that I was divorced. She asked “What’s the difference?” Continue reading

The Most Annoying Question

yea, yea I know she’s not single, but I had to do it

“All the single ladies, All the single ladies”

Maybe its just me but as a single, oops sometimes I forget divorced woman over 30, the question that irks me the most* is “WHY ARE YOU SINGLE?”

Has this ever happened to you? You are out at a happy hour, get together, football game, house party, etc…you strike up a conversation with a guy, y’all are hitting it off and here it comes…he asks, “Why are you single?”. What about on the first “date”, things are going well, you find you have mutual interests, likes and backgrounds, etc… then BAM he hits you with “WOW you’re a great lady, why are you single?”.

Power Struggle

Take that! Take that!

No one woman should have all that power
The clock’s tickin’, we just wait for hours
Black women, this problem is ours
21st century hairstylists

We all know that black women have a special relationship with their hair, it’s been discussed for generations, blogged about on the interwebs and there was even a movie dedicated to it. I won’t rehash all that. I’ll just say that the majority of “us” don’t feel fancy until the do is did, doesn’t matter if it’s relaxed, pressed, curled, sewed, bonded or pinned. Continue reading

Blizzard 2011

Blizzard 2011

After having a debate with a Facebook “friend” about the way Atlanta handled the 2011 “Blizzard” I remembered how much I dislike northerners. Well not all of them, just the ones who move to the south then constantly put southerners (and their ways) down. Since I love to share this feeling is not limited to northerners but applies to any foreigner to a region, organization or group who does nothing but complain about the very thing they chose to become a part of. Our discussion got me fired up enough to want to share my thoughts on this particular subject, so here goes my first post…(sorry if it reads like a rant) Continue reading
